Iced Turmeric "Latte"

Turmeric contains curcumin, which research shows can help reduce pain, regulate blood sugar, and improve cholesterol levels. This latte combines turmeric with aromatic spices for a flavorful drink.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups homemade almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground Ceylon cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

  • To make homemade almond milk in the J2, start by soaking 2 cups of raw almonds in 3 cups of water overnight. Drain and rinse, then feed 2 cups of almonds with 2 to 3 cups of water through the juicer to make the milk.⁣
  • Next, place all of the spices and the maple syrup in a small saucepan along with 1 tablespoon of the almond milk. Whisk to combine.⁣
  • Add the remaining milk and bring to a boil on high heat. Turn off the heat and chill.⁣
  • Pour over ice.⁣
Note: You can also use a store-bought plant-based milk of your choice.
