A detoxifying and hydrating juice for those with acne-prone skin. This juice is low in sugar and further helps balance blood sugar levels with the addition of lemon, shown to slow the absorption of sugar. Beta-carotene in fresh herbs supports skin healing. Celery and cucumber provide essential hydration. Chlorophyll in herbs like mint and cilantro support detoxification pathways and contain natural antibacterial compounds. Apple is rich in pectin, a prebiotic fiber that supports gut barrier function, helping reduce overall inflammation.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 ribs of celery
- 1 medium cucumber
- 1 green apple
- ½ lemon, peeled
- ½ cup mint leaves
- ½ cup cilantro, leaves and stems chopped
DIERCTIONS
- Wash all produce well.
- Cut celery, cucumber, apple, and lemon into chunks and add to the juicer along with the mint and cilantro.
- Juice, and enjoy.
Notes:
- Cilantro can be substituted with parsley, based on personal taste and/or season
- Leftover pulp can be frozen as ice cubes and added to smoothies
- Use 1 cup of pulp and add it to veggie burgers for a boost of nutrients
