Apple Crisp Iced Chai
This seasonal drink combines warm chai spices blended with fresh apple and a delicious make-ahead apple spiced syrup that can be used as an alternative to your regular sweetener. Apple syrup can also be replaced with maple syrup for a simpler option.
Apple Brown Sugar Syrup
- 1 cup fresh apple juice
- 1 cup coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Iced Chai
- 2 chai tea bags
- 3 ½ cups water
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 small apple (approx. 4oz), cut into 8 pieces
- 2 tablespoons apple brown sugar syrup
Directions
- First make the syrup, add all ingredients to a small saucepan and whisk until combined. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to cool at room temperature for 15 minutes. Transfer to a jar and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
- In a large heat-proof jug or pot, steep chai tea bags in 2 cups boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags, squeezing out the excess liquid before discarding. Add remaining 1 ½ cups of cold water.
- Using the Nama M1, add oats, apple, syrup and chai infused water. Select 1 minute blend time and press Start. Follow prompts to open spout.
- Enjoy over ice sprinkle with cinnamon.
