Dandelion Chai
This nourishing blend brings the rich, earthy taste of roasted dandelion root with a medley of aromatic spices together. Packed with nutrients and a delightful flavor, this tea-based milk drink is an ideal choice for a slow morning or a calming treat. Dandelion root is a caffeine-free alternative to black tea with a natural bitter flavor that supports liver function and digestive health. It can be found in supermarkets as Roasted Dandelion Root tea bags.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 cups water
- 2 roasted dandelion root tea bags
- ⅔ cup oats
- ⅓ cup cashews
- 3 tablespoons hemp seeds
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 inch piece ginger, peeled and sliced
- ½ teaspoon fennel seeds
- 2 cardamom pods, or ⅛ teaspoon ground cardamom
- 6 black peppercorns
- ⅛ teaspoon fine sea salt
Directions
- In a large heat-proof jug or pot, steep dandelion tea bags in 2 cups boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags, squeezing out the excess liquid before discarding. Add 2 cups of cold water.
- Using the Nama M1 Plant-Based Milk Maker, add all the other ingredients into the basket, then pour in dandelion infused water. Blend for 60 seconds, then open the pour spout.
- Enjoy warm by steaming with the milk wand on a coffee machine, or heat over the stove, then froth.
