The Making of the Nama Vitality 5800 | J1 Cold Press Juicer

Last year, a few of our Nama team had the privilege of visiting our partner company Hurom’s factory in South Korea to oversee production, witness the craftsmanship and meet with some of the Hurom team. It was an incredible trip and we wanted to share some highlights with you.

Hurom has been manufacturing world class kitchen appliances for 40+ years and it was clear to see the high caliber of work being done at the factory. We have been collaborating closely with their engineers to build our Nama Juicer exactly to our vision and it was awesome to see everything come to life piece by piece. Such skill, care and pride went into every single part. All parts and components are assembled and inspected by hand.

The factory was immaculate and the workers were happy and friendly. Throughout the factory, there were educational materials on the walls about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and juicing. Every employee receives a fresh juice daily. It is an honor to partner with a company that cares for the wellness of its employees.

Hurom built a retreat center in the mountains of Sancheong, about an hour and a half from Busan. Employees can visit this retreat throughout the year for fresh air and relaxation. We were able to spend one night here and it was breathtakingly beautiful.

While at Hurom headquarters we were able to visit a section of the building for lab testing where scientists can get down into the microscopic level to study how to optimize the extraction of nutrients, enzymes, and antioxidants of fruits and vegetables.  It was fascinating to witness this commitment to detail.

Lastly, we were also able to see the final steps of production and our packaging all come together. After working on this product for so long it was amazing to see everything come together. Even though this trip was a year ago and we are one year in production we are still very happy with our partnership and look forward to going back to Korea soon.
